Hello! I am a 32 year old stay at home mom of three. I am married to a very funny, talented, sweet guy named David. We have shared our lives for nearly ten years now. One of my passions is photography. Some day I hope to be an official student of photography, and then maybe make some money doing it, but for now it remains a favorite pass time, and a constant source of pleasure. Another interest of mine is writing. The written word touches all of us in varying degrees. I am increasingly amazed at how a few words strung together in just the right way can evoke such a myriad of emotion in all of us. I just love being a part of that process! Some of my other interest include reading, kids (of course), antique shopping, sports, and decorating. I also love to experience new things! The funner and more exciting the more attractive it is to me. While I am by no means an "extreme" girl, I am a bit of a thrill junkie! In March 2000 for my 30th birthday, I went sky-diving! It was amazing!!! Here in Cali, I plan to experience snow boarding, scuba diving, and maybe para-sailing.

What takes up my 24/7? As a home schooling mom, it is pretty obvious what takes up the bulk of my time and where my priorities lie, but what else do I do? There are so many opportunities for fun and discovery open to us here in California. We are so blessed to have one of our favorite activities (the BEACH!!) just a mile and a half away. We have found so much pleasure in just slipping away in the middle of the day to walk on the beach, explore some tide pools, build sand castles, and ride some waves. There are also numerous hiking trails with amazing views all located close enough to us for us to enjoy whenever we get the urge.
Lately, my list of busy activities has been minimized so that I can enjoy this pregnancy and concentrate on homeschooling, but I have found lots of time and creative energy to transform our living room and kitchen. I love to decorate, and I am quite proud of what I have accomplished on so little money! We have gone from a crafty country look to a more rustic/early American look in the kitchen, and a cozy, warm look in the living room. I changed the color palet in the living room from red, white and blue to deep rich tapestries in browns, greens, golds, burgundies, and creams....the effect is quite inviting, more on the classy side and much more "grown up" than it has been in the past. It is the kind of room that you makes you want to lounge around in your silk pajama's by candle light , listening to classical music, while sipping some Earl Grey....hahahah! Can you tell that I may take this a bit too seriously!!!!???
Anyway, the next room we will tackle will be the nursery! Can't wait!!!
I am still working with the exchange student program as an accademic coordinator and a teacher whenever a group flies in for a few weeks. This has been very enjoyable for me and a great way to make some extra cash without being disruptive to my family life. The kids love it too and are able to come along with me on whatever activities I've planned. Now, when little one comes along, we may have to make a few adjustments...but for now, this is ideal. |
